Freuds famous case of female homosexuality Unearthing our histories - Lesbian Visibility Week An event to celebrate the Inaugural Lesbian Visibility Week, supported by DIVA Media Group. Lesbian Visibility Day has been recognised since 2008, but this year DIVA wanted to build on this, running a dedicated week to Lesbian Visibility from 20 April 26 April 2020. Now finally available in English, this biography of Margarethe Csonka-Trautenegg (19001999) offers a fully-rounded picture of a willful and psychologically complex aesthete. As Freuds never-before-identified case of female homosexuality, her analysis continues to spark often heated psychoanalytic debate. Margarethes (Sidonies) experiences spanned the twentieth century. Jewish by birth, she fled upper-class life in Vienna for Cuba to escape the Nazis, only to return post-war to a leaden city and relative poverty. Fleeing again, she took various jobs abroad, and returned permanently only in old age.
