Rufus Wainwright /Royal Philharmonic Orchestra @ Hastings
on 28 Feb
on 28 Feb
With wonderfully romantic lyrics and inspired orchestral flourishes, Montreal-born Rufus Wainwright is unique among the artists of his generation for his lush, theatrical pop sound. The son of folk luminaries Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, and brother of Martha Wainwright, Rufus has continued the family's music success story. His material spans baroque pop to opera, musicals and film soundtracks to Judy Garland covers. Sometimes performing solo with a piano, other times joined by guest musicians, Rufus is always a captivating live performer.
