InterMediaUK are excited to announce that we will be holding an LGBT+ Parenting Event at The Guardians offices in Kings Cross 17 May 2018. An increasing number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people are choosing to become parents or foster care parents while many new family forms are getting increasing coverage in the media. Were delighted to be inviting Professor Susan Golombok from the Centre for Family Research at the University of Cambridge to be our keynote speaker. Susan has pioneered research on lesbian mother families and gay father families and has challenged commonly held assumptions about these families their effect on child development. We will also be holding a panel discussion hosted by Guardian columnist Owen Jones, who will be joined by: Helen Prosser and Natalie Gamble, Brilliant Beginnings Charlie Condou, Ambassador for Out with the Family Sarah OConnell, The Sarah OConnell Show Richard Westoby, San Diego Fertility Clinic Vanessa Smith, London Womens Clinic TBC, New Family Social The panel will explore the many different journeys LGBT+ people are taking to becoming parents and sharing their views and experiences on parenthood. If anyone wishes to remain after the keynote and panel session for a drink to network and socialise we will be reconvening in The Rotunda at The Guardian from 21:00. We look forward to meeting you.
