OUT at Clapham – The Wound
London on 01 May - 20:45–23:00
London on 01 May - 20:45–23:00
We're teaming up with Discover Tuesdays to bring you a screening of another 2018 Best Foreign Film nominee, The Wound. Xolani, a lonely factory worker, joins the men of his community in the mountains of the Eastern Cape to initiate a group of teenage boys into manhood. When a defiant initiate from the city discovers his best-kept secret, Xolanis entire existence begins to unravel. South Africas entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2018 Academy Awards tackles tradition, sexuality, masculinity and what it means to be an outsider.
