on 11 Oct - 17:00 - 21:00
October 11th marks National Coming Out Day (NCOD), a significant date in the ever-growing LGBTQ+ calendar of awareness events. The day aims to celebrate and draw attention to the experience of coming out which has become a rite of passage for many LGBTQ+ people. Every year on National Coming Out Day, we celebrate coming out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer (LGBTQ+). To celebrate, and raise awareness of National Coming Out Day, Lloyds Banking Groups (Stonewall's 2017 Employer of the Year) award-winning Rainbow Network & Pinsent Masons (ranked second in this years Stonewall Workplace Equality Index) have the pleasure of hosting an evening of short films presented by Jake Graf along with fundraising for Mermaids; one of our charity partners. This event is open to those that identify as LGBTQ+ as well as straight allies. The event will be held in Chester at the MBNA office in their purpose built auditorium on Wednesday 11 October from 18:00 21:00. Jake Graf is an Award-Winning transgender actor, writer and film director whose first four award-winning films, XWHY, Brace, Chance and Dawn have all been nominated for The Iris Prize, and have been screened at over 100 festivals worldwide. His acting roles include parts in Tom Hoopers The Danish Girl. Jake was listed on The Independents Rainbow List, The Guardians Pride Power List for his activism and visibility within the trans community and the Top 100 OutList, where he is the only UK trans male. Jake will be presenting four of his award-winning short films on the evening: Chance, Dawn, Dusk & Headspace. Following the screening, there will be an opportunity to network and enjoy refreshments. The event is sure to be both memorable, and in high demand, so if you would like to attend please register to secure your ticket.
