Alan Hollinghurst Signing The Sparsholt Affair @ GaysTheWord Bookshop
London on 06 Oct - 16:00–17:00

At 4pm on Friday 6th of October Alan Hollinhurst will be signing copies of his eagerly anticipated new novel The Sparsholt Affair at Gay's the Word. Hollinghurst's sixth novel is an exploration of shifting tastes, attitudes and private life - especially gay life - set in 20th century Britain. The Sparsholt Affair is a multi-generational tale told in five sections, beginning in Oxford in 1940 and moving forward in time in vivid episodes to 60s Cornwall and 70s London. His previous books include The Strangers Child and The Line of Beauty for which he won the 2004 Man Booker Prize. You are welcome to either attend the free event in person or request a signed copy to be reserved for you (you don't need to do both). So if you'd like to come to the bookshop and get your book signed in person between 4pm and 5pm on the 6th, we'll see you then. We'll have lots of copies in stock. Simply RSVP on this Facebook page to indicate that you are coming so we have a sense of numbers (or call us on 0207 278 7654) If you are not able to attend in person but would still like a signed copy (dedicated copies not possible we're afraid) arranged for you all you need to do is email us sales@gaystheword.co.uk putting the words 'Signed Hollinghurst' in the subject header and then indicate in the email how many copies you'd like. You are welcome to collect signed copies from the bookshop or we can send out in the post. The novel, which is published on October 5th, costs 20
