Gain a Queer Perspective on our Collection with resident artist Sadie Lee and her special guest Christopher Green as they discuss portraits which have a personal resonance. 2017 marks the ten year anniversary of Queer Perspectives, the Gallerys pioneering quarterly in conversation event curated and hosted by artist Sadie Lee. Over the past decade Sadie has welcomed guests - including Ali Smith, Sunil Gupta, David McAlmont, Andrew Logan, Amy Lam, Richard Dyer, David Holah, Neil Bartlett, Scottee, and Bird La Bird - to discuss people in the Collection who have a personal resonance, teasing out surprising links and hidden histories. Christopher Green is an entertainer, writer and theatre maker. He is the creator of country music singer Tina C, and hip hop pensioner Ida Barr. He is The Singing Hypnotist and the author of Overpowered: The Science & Showbiz of Hypnosis. He was the first Artist in Residence at the British Library. He creates experiential theatre and his current show is an imersive piece about pornography addiction, Prurience, at the Royal Festival Hall. He is developing a new piece about Queer Music Hall Singer Fred Barnes in collaboration with Wiltons Music Hall where he is an Artistic Associate, due for production May 2018 and broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Summer 2018
