Three seemingly disconnected characters search for a sense of community in London's rapidly disappearing gay scene. Ian refuses to leave his flat and is struggling with his first experience of online dating. Louie sleeps on the circle line all day in-between finding work as a male escort. Sue is struggling to delete Sid and has instigated a war with the builders outside her front window. The gay community has vanished, but what happens when all three characters are thrown out of their comfort zones and forced to find solace in one another? 'A Boy Named Sue' examines the need for a sense of community in an oppressively hetero-normative world. It looks at how humans can form friendships in the most unlikely of places and love one another despite all the odds. ★★★★★ - The New Current - One of the strongest and terrifyingly beautiful plays that could debut at the fringe' ★★★★★ - EdFringe Review - This piece gives an invaluable voice to a community that is too often silenced ★★★★ - Three Weeks - Immediate and Sharp ★★★★ - The List - Sharply intelligent...Darrells script is a revelation
