Have you ever wanted to perform in a professional orchestra, or played an instrument in the past but not had the opportunity in recent years? Then now is your chance to dust off your instrument and revive your talent! The BSO Rusties allow amateur musicians to perform alongside the full Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in concert. Rusties benefit from specialist coaching during rehearsals with BSO musicians, professional instruction from a BSO conductor, and meet like-minded people in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. This project is my favourite event of the year! I play better and better since I joined the Rusties. As this is the only opportunity I can play, it means a lot to me. I can now play by sight-reading quite confidently since joining the Rusties 5 years ago! The project is aimed at young fledgling talent, those who would like to experience playing in an orchestra, and also those who may be more rusty a reason to begin playing once more. Musicians of all ages are invited to take part in the BSO Rusties, with a recommended grade 5 standard.
