American author Tim Murphy discusses his stunning debut novel to mark LGBT History Month. Tim's novel, Christodora, is a bold and poignant portrait of the bohemian Manhattan of sex, drugs, art and activism, from the early 1980s to the near future. The novel has been described by Candace Bushnell as 'a moving portrait of New York in the time of AIDS' and by Hanya Yanagihara, author of A Little Life, as 'an impassioned, big-hearted and ultimately hopefuly chronicle of a changing New York'. Christodora has been optioned for TV by Paramount and the producer of True Detective. Tim Murphy is a journalist who has written for, amongst others, The New York Times, New York Magazine, Details, Conde Nast Traveler and WSJ Magazine. Tim has reported on HIV/AIDS for 20 years in such publications as Poz, Out, The Advocate and New York Magazine, where his cover story on the new HIV-prevention pill regimen PrEP was nominated for a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Magazine Journalism. Polari is both storybook and comment on queer lives, devoted to new and established literary talent.
