Polari has been awarded a Grant for the Arts from Arts Council England to fund a series of six events over six months at the Printworks in Hastings. A stimulating and fun night out Hastings Independent Polari on Sea launched on June 30 with local authors VG Lee (pictured right) and Jonathan Broughton, plus visiting writers Neil Bartlett and Alice Denny. The venue was packed and the audience reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Feedback forms rated the event excellent, with people commenting on the variety of the readers, the great space and atmosphere and the mixed drama of direct experience, fiction and fun. One added Hastings needs more events like this! And its getting them! The season continues on July 29 with a lineup including David McAlmont (pictured below) Jane Czyzselska, John McCullough (winner of The Polari First Book Prize 2012) and All The Nice Girls.
