Screaming Queens tells the story of the first known collective queer resistance to police intimidation in the United States, when police raided a popular transgender hangout in San Francisco in 1966 and the patrons fought back. (2005, dir. Victor Silverman and Susan Stryker) Followed by Q&A with Juliet Jacques, journalist and historian, and Nicky Cambridge, from the Policy Development Team of the Brighton and Hove City Council. The event is free to attend, but registration is required and guests must bring their tickets.
