As part of 2015 LGBT History Month, The Rainbow Intersection Presents - A dialogue about reconciling Religion, Faith, Belief and Sexuality It is not uncommon to hear from LGBTI people who grew up in homes where a specific religion or faith was practiced by their family of origin, talk about the wounds, pain and trauma they still carry when it comes to the messages they heard regarding sexuality and religion. These messages were often not welcoming or affirming. Instead, they were messages that talked about sin, abomination, being less than, unclean or bad. As a result, many became ostracized or isolated from their family, close friends and community. Some abandoned the God/Faith of their childhood and went on a journey of finding their own truth.
